1. Do not refer to children as youngsters. They will kick you in the shins.

2. If you're going to write something in such a way as to make the author appear "uneducated", don't misspell things just to misspell them. No one would misspell "special" as "spechul" because that's not how it's said. Also, someone who cannot spell "bracelet" probably wouldn't construct sentences with multiple clauses. This may just be my Forensic Linguistics studies coming out, but it's irritating.

3. Fairytale moral causality is boring, and no one above the age of six is impressed by it. Even the nicest people are not 100% good. Nasty people do not always get what they deserve and/or see the error of their ways. And very rarely are acts of kindness recognized, lauded, or considered cause for town celebrations.

3a. Remember the conversation we had about details being like money? Yeah. I think we might need to have a workshop on narrative priorities.

In regard to item 3, I realize my commentary on this issue may seem unneccessarily jaded and cynical, but the point is not that the world is a nasty place and you shouldn't pretend it's not. The point is that there's a lot of good in the world, and I think that readers are more likely to respond to a story that takes its lead from the real goodness in real people, rather than extravagant good deeds performed in some idealized small town where everyone knows what everyone else is up to. All the gritty shades of grey are what make life interesting and, by extension, what make art interesting. A piece of fiction suffers when it is cast only in black and white.

Feel:
headachey headachey

Wow. I've been scoffing silently at this author, but silence won't do anymore. I feel very, very sorry for you.
